Woot!!!

Say what?  I said "Woot", yes....... "Woot".  Bear with me while I explain.  For anyone that knows my husband even a little, you know that he loves to find a good deal.  While Joe was over in Iraq, one of the things he really missed was slowly perusing the aisles of Target, Home Depot and Sam's for "deals of the century" as he calls them.  He was super excited to find out that Sam's Club offers online auctions (somewhat similar to Ebay), but he also stumbled upon a unique website.   If you haven't checked out www.woot.com, it's worth a quick look-see.  They only sell one item a day, unless it's two-for-Tuesday where you get two items for the price of one.  Sometimes they have a "woot-off" to clear out their inventory.  They list one item at a time and when it's gone, they start selling something else.   They always have a great deal, but you have to check it every day to see if there is something that speaks to you. 

For those of you who don't like to shop (is there such a person on this earth???) but like a good laugh, you should still check out the website.  This weekend Joe was looking to see what the deal of the day was when he asked, "have you ever read the product descriptions on here?".  I replied with a "no, WHY?".  He proceeded to read me one the quirkiest stories via product description I have ever heard.  Someone has waaaaaay too much time on their hands, but it is commical nonetheless. I don't even want to know what type of person comes up with things like that, but I do get a chuckle out of them.  Plus, it makes me feel like I'm not the biggest nerd on the planet.

Do you text???

After our house was broken into a few months ago, we needed to get another phone for Cooper. Thankfully it just happened to be two years since we got the last phone, so we received a credit from Sprint to go towards a phone.  They were running a special, so Cooper ended up with this phone.  It has a micro SD card slot for pics, movies and music.  It's also a breeze to text on! 

  We also decided to finally take the step and add unlimited texting to our plan.  I never thought that we would use it, but it has come in so handy!  Cooper can send me messages when he's on the bus coming home, I can get a message to Joe if he's in a meeting.....it's AWESOME!!!  Who doesn't like to get a spontaneous message from their sweetie that says "How are you doing today?  I sure do love you!"

Joe has this phone.  He can do all kind of things on it like listen to music, take videos, zoom on pictures, and it's a PDA.  Pretty spiffy!!!

Now, this is my plain Jane phone.  Yes, it does have a camera and I can text on it, but I have to do it the old fashioned way.  Pretty boring, but it gets the job done.  I'm tempted to steal Cooper's (which isn't technically his, it's ours and we let him use it.  Gotta keep that power!).  Oh well, I guess I'll just wait.  I don't want to be tempted to be one of "those" people who text while driving.

Today I have been putting together some ads so that I can try and sell some of this baby gear we have acquired and no longer need (keep your fingers crossed).  I decided to try CraigsList first, especially when I realized that posting ads for sale is FREE!!!!  Even with pictures!  When I got to the last screen to post my first ad, I was prompted to enter a security word.  You know those weird groupings of letters written in a combination of upper case and lower case and they often have some crazy squiggly line going through them that makes them almost impossible to recognize?  That's what I had to do, but these were actual words, and I had to copy two of them. Some words seemed to correspond with each other somewhat, like "arrested" and "Won", while others didn't correlate at all; such as "Harriette" and "the".  The one that really suck out to me was this one........again, don't read any further if you are going to be offended. 

 

"Hyman" and "Dickoff"

I kid you not, that's what my ACTUAL security words were on CraigsList today.  It was just too crazy not to mention.  TRUE STORY!
